Top tips to help you with lift cleaning
Keep on top of your lift cleaning to prolong the lifespan of the lift and keep it looking in great condition for all of those who use it. As lifts are small and cramped spaces, they can easily deteriorate and even get damaged if they’re not cleaned and maintained regularly. Here are some essential lift cleaning tips from our team of trained lift specialists:
Take care when cleaning stainless steel surfaces
Much of the time, the doors and windows of a lift are constructed using sturdy stainless steel. The only downside is that these surfaces tend to get grimy over time with fingerprint stains and dust. Clean these away using a soft and clean microfibre cloth with a special solution for cleaning stainless steel. Wipe using a dry cloth.
Use a window cleaner for mirrors
It’s easy for lift mirrors to get dirty quite quickly. The good news is that these mirrors are quite easy to clean with the right cleaning liquid. Invest in a good glass or window cleaner and clean away any stains and streaks using a microfibre cloth and cleaning product. Wipe down your mirrors with coffee filters (yes, coffee filters) after for a streak-free finish. These are well-known as a handy tool for mirror cleaning.
Don’t forget the door tracks
Although they’re not quite as visible as surfaces and mirrors, door tracks can get very dirty over time as grime gets embedded deep within them. Avoid your lift door tracks getting clogged with dirt by using a brush to get rid of grime and debris. Next, use a vacuum cleaner to get rid of any dirt that’s deep in there. Don’t skip regular cleaning of the door tracks otherwise you may find that the doors don’t open and close easily.
Clean buttons with an antibacterial cleaning solution
As multiple people touch lift buttons throughout the day, they’re bound to get filled with bacteria. Use an antibacterial cleaning spray here to prevent the spread of germs,
