What Is In Store For The Future Of Lifts?

There are so many technological advancements that have taken place over the last few decades that have changed the world we live in. Arguably one of the most groundbreaking is that of the lift. As we see bigger and grander structures being created, it is crucial that the technology used to create our lifts continues to evolve.

The last few years have seen plenty of changes within the lift industry. It’s continuing to evolve and grow and innovations that have progressed and impacted on how the lift functions and how it can be serviced.

In this blog we look at some of the newest and most exciting lift advancements. Read on to discover more about this ever-evolving industry.

Smartlift

In a similar fashion to the smartphone – lifts are becoming very high-tech these days. When someone uses a ‘smartlift’, they press a button for the floor they need to go to, an indicator will direct them to a specific elevator that will handle the task the quickest.

This kind of advanced routing will swiftly move the flow of passengers, this is particularly useful during high-traffic times in huge hotels, high rises, apartments and multi-purpose office buildings. They can even be designed to operate in different ways at certain periods during the day.

Virtual lift technology

This is a very recent innovation which supports the evolving technology of lift repair. They have altered the way that mechanics repair lifts, allowing mechanics to identify any issues without any risk to safety by climbing many floors or hanging from a lift shift.

All the mechanic needs to do is put on the required glasses, using hand motions to explore the engine and individual parts in thorough detail. You can also widen the view in order to carry out a virtual ‘walk through’ and see what needs to be repaired or replaced.

Eco-friendly lifts

Eco lifts don’t just require less energy consumption, they will also save on the materials, processes, and technologies that are used. Plus, savings can be experienced on interior paints, flooring, lighting, control panels and HVAC systems.

After being in the business for over 25 years, Euro Lifts Limited has become one of the South West’s most prominent lift manufacturers and we’re able to take on any project thrown our way.
